I've received quite a great feedback from one of my sensitivity readers. I mean, I've researched a lot into Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) - terminologies, issues, symptoms, causes, etc.
I am currently writing an urban fantasy romance where one of the main characters has DID or close enough. Since this is in a fantasy setting, there's some aspect of the disorder that will be associated with the magic system, and I want it to be as close as possible but it won't be technically the same. But, this gives readers without DID an insight as to how DID works, and readers with DID relate to a character who has similar issues and symptoms as someone with DID, but not be able to self diagnose as one since it's totally under different circumstances being in a fantasy setting and all.
